There’s so much to love about this simple novel that will appeal to kids around the ages of 6-9. There’s a kind and intelligent heroine who’s on the path of becoming a detective. There’s the wonderful relationship between her and her father. There’s information about Botswana and the way of life of the people there. And there’s a moral lesson about not accusing other’s without proof.
To look out for
- Violence: Precious’ father tells her the tale of almost being eaten by a lion
- Language: The kids in the class assume a boy has stolen their food because they describe him as being fat and having a round stomach
Purchase on: Book Depository
