Reader’s Review
Copied after the British nursery rhyme ‘The House that Jack Built’, this is a cute story of an owl who is worried when the rooster does not wake everyone up for the dawn prayer. The story teaches love for prayer, although the owl’s attempts to wake up the animals are a bit odd, and the language is neither poetry nor prose. But children will appreciate the storyline and the repetitions in the language.
To look out for
- Violence: The owl tries to get the wolf to eat the fox as part of it’s plan, and the picture of the wolf might scare younger children.
