Reader’s Review

A stunning book that is a joy to behold and ponder upon. Based on the famous Persian work of poetry by the same name, this is an English translation and summary written in the form of a picture book and illustrated magnificently. Children may find interesting the story of a group of birds that journey in search of a king, but they are unlikely to get the spiritual lessons that lay behind the quest of each individual bird. Parents may just end up benefitting from this book more than their children!

To look out for

  • Language: One bird is made fun of because it is so small
  • Violence: One bird is almost lost in a storm
