Reader’s Review
This classic picture book from Robert Munsch is different from his many other books in it’s theme and tone. It is the story of a young mother who sings of her love to her newborn baby, and continues to sing to him even as he grows from a mischievous toddler, to messy a boy, to an unruly teenager, and even a grown man. When she grown too old to sing to him then they switch spots and he sings to her instead. Despite some issues with the descriptions, this might just bring tears to the eyes of the reader!
To look out for
- Islamic Values: The teenager is described as listening to loud music and hanging out with friends and making a mess. The mother also enters the home of her grown son to sing to him secretly at night.
