Amelia Bedelia’s First Day of School

Reader’s Review:

This is the same Amelia Bedelia – the famous housemaid who takes everything literally, but as a young girl who is eager to learn about the world around her. In this first book, Amelia can’t wait to learn everything about school, but of course she takes everything the adults says literally, even gluing herself to her seat! Children and parents will enjoy the humour in all the books – although some are better than others.

To look out for

• Islamic Values: Amelia plays instruments in music class. Note that some of the other books in the series like First Apple Pie are lovely, but parents may want to be careful with others like First Valentine.
