Everyone on Grimloch Lane enjoys the trees and shrubs clipped into animal masterpieces after dark by the Night Gardener, but William, a lonely boy, spots the artist, follows him, and helps with his special work.
Reader’s Review
A beautifully illustrated picture book about a secret gardener that comes at night and transforms the city’s trees into different shaped topiaries. The main character, a young boy, is fascinated by the changes and eventually gets a chance to help the gardener. The book instills a love of nature in the city’s population – and hopefully in the reader. The story is not as fascinating as the pictures which will delight readers of all ages.
