Reader’s Review
A beautifully illustrated book that describes the long walk that a child must make each day to get water for her family. Children who cannot imagine what it means to have to travel to get water will be stunned to realize the reality of life in other parts of the world. The words are also poetic, and the love between the parents and the daughter makes the book a worthy read.
To look out for
- Islamic Values: The book is based on the life of model Giorgie Badiel. The young girl is drawn wearing a long skirt and a tank top. She does a little dance to try and get the water to come to her.
