Reader’s Review

The second installment in the Ali Cross series is just as full of adventure, mystery and thrills but is spoiled by the relationship between Ali and Zoe – the girl he both likes and suspects of hiding something. There are a number of discussions of their relationship and a few small kisses, which may not be appropriate for all readers.

To look out for

  • Islamic Values: In order to solve the mystery Ali sneaks away from home and school on a number of occasions, lying to his grandma and disobeying his parents. However he always tells the truth afterwards.
  • Romance: Ali and Zoe are beginning to have feelings for each other. Ali wonders if she is his girlfriend. She writes a poem for him. They share two quick kisses.
  • Violence: Ali almost falls off a roof ladder. Zoe gets shot in the wrist. Police violently clean up a street with homeless people. Ali gets knocked down and chips his tooth.
