Reader’s Review
An engaging and horrific tale of extreme survival in the open ocean. This is a great non-fiction title that is an easy read for children, as long as they are not too sensitive to the near-death descriptions.
To look out for
- Violence: Vivid descriptions of the challenges and horrors faced by the three sailors, including being pinned under a table, almost drowning on many occasions, the captain’s ribs being broken and the pain he is in, the great dangers that the helicopter crew undertake in saving them, and the near death (he almost breaks his back) of one the rescuers.
