Readers Review:
The siblings band together to do something for their ailing neighbor whom they love dearly. The book encourages spending time in nature by growing plants and flowers, and has a strong emphasis on helping others. Not as interesting as the first book, but still a fun read!
Look out for:
Of concern is very little, although references to the growing relationship between one of the twins and her friend Benny are made, but she is off at violin camp so they do not meet in person. The kids also break into the plot without explicit permission before beginning their garden.
- Islamic values: Isa is a passionate violin player who chooses to spend a part of the summer at violin camp rehearsing. Kids break open a lock to enter the hidden garden and hide their plans from the adults around them.
- Romance: Benny asks about Isa and it is obvious that he misses her.
