Readers Review
A lot of old-fashioned fun, the book does not read as modern fiction, but it deals with common behavioral issues in children with a lot of humour. From not picking up toys, to refusing to eat and shower, Mrs. Piggle Wiggle has creative solutions for all these kids. Makes for a great read aloud. As a cautionary note, the descriptions of misbehaviour may encourage some children to follow suit.
Look out for
- Islamic Values: the antics of the children are highly exaggerated, so the child who never wants to shower gets very dirty, and the child who is selfish never shares. Also in one solution parents act like bickering children, calling each other names, to teach their kids a lesson.
- Language: One child with an ailment of talking-back is consistently rude to elders. Children use words like cheater and pig and greedy, when calling each other names.
- Violence: Kids bicker, fight, and sometimes argue with parents
