Reader’s Review

A sweet story of a young girl who chooses to write about Prophet Muhammad (s) when her teacher announces a writing competition with the subject “Who do I aspire to be like?”. The story is geared towards younger children (lower elementary), but the amount of writing and language is more appropriate for (upper elementary). Readers may find the ending somewhat cliche, but the message about being inspired by the life of the Prophet (s) comes through.

To look out for

  • Islamic Values: As the students brainstorm heroes they aspire to be like, the teacher writes the names of popular actors and musicians on the board.
