Islamic values: A character briefly questions God’s decisions when their infant dies
Romance: A character is thought to have been married to a man who was really an identical cousin of her late husband, whom she disliked. When this is discovered, Anne helps the girl marry a man who she falls in love with. An old man narrates the story of his lover who drowned.
Violence: An infant dies a day after its birth, this scene is quite sad. The aforementioned late husband of a character died after being attacked by drunkards (this is only mentioned).
