A riveting non-fiction story of the creation of the atomic bomb. Perfect for preteens, teens, and young adults.

To look out for:

Islamic values: The scientists are working on a bomb that has the potential to destroy humanity, and many of the workers readily commit to the prospect. People are willing to steal, kill, and do whatever is necessary to attain the secret of the bomb. However, many of the characters (including Albert Einstein) regret their involvement of the creation of nuclear weapons.

Profanity: “son of a b—h”

Violence: Graphic descriptions of the effects of the bomb, particularly in Hiroshima. People are burned, killed, and severely injured by the horrific nature of atomic bombs. Men get into fights when trying to sabotage a factory.
