Islamic values: The entire book is about magical creatures and people such as witches, wizards, elves, and goblins. There is no God, only magic. Non-magic people are referred somewhat resentfully to as ‘muggles’, which may leave kids wishing for a more ‘exciting’, magical world.
Violence: The villain Voldemort tried to kill Harry as a baby, but only succeeded in killing his parents. When the two of them encounter each other at the end of a book, a somewhat disturbing fight takes place. In one scene, three kids fight off a giant troll.
