Reader’s Review
This is a highly acclaimed and popular novel that combines different genres; it’s a mystery that will keep kids engaged, but it’s also filled with inspiring descriptions of the amazons. The book is well written (some have said the style reminds them of The Secret Garden or Little Women), and may appeal to older children as well.
To look out for
- Islamic Values: The main character has a platonic friendship with another boy she meets in the Amazon. Dancing and music is a part of the culture described. As part of solving the mystery children are involved in deceived adults.
- Violence: A house burns down, no one is hurt
