J.R.R Tolkein’s timeless classic about the perilous journey undertaken by a hobbit in the fictional land of Middle Earth is a perfect series for middle or high schoolers looking to practice their English and have an enjoyable read.

To look out for:

Islamic values: The concept of non-human creatures such as elves and dwarves existing is very prominent, and the idea of God is replaced by mythical entities.

Violence: Many wars and fights take place. A hobbit is stabbed with a poisoned sword, thousands of humans and goblins are killed, a character’s finger is bitten off, another character dies by falling into fire.
