This is the second book in the highly popular Mastermind series about a group of children who realize that their lives are completely fake and they can’t trusty anyone, not even their parents. In this book they have escaped their ‘perfect’ homes and try to survive in the real world.
To look out for
- Islamic Values: Children must run away from their ‘parents’, or the people they thought were their parents, but are in fact scientists who created them illegally. In the new world, there is reference to media, gambling and other issues, and they must break into houses, resort to occasional violence, and steal cars to survive.
- Romance: Character mentions that the boys are not ‘hot’, and at another point two friends are clarified as not being boyfriend/girlfriend.
- Profanity: Use of word ‘shut up’ , ‘dummy’ , ‘idiot’, and ‘butt’
- Violence: Children realize that chips have been placed in their head to prevent them from escaping. In the process of removing the chip, there is graphic descriptions. They see a man stealing with a weapon. In one scene they fight an opponent. They visit criminal masterminds, one who is a serial killer. They help another criminal escape from jail.
