Reader’s Review

A fast-paced, adventure book full of mystery and intrigue, cool gadgets and a secret city underground reminiscent of ‘City of Ember’.  Although older readers might find the storyline cliche and predictable, all the interesting scientific and historic information combined with plenty of adventure will engage most preteen and middle school readers. More of a fun book than one with educational value.

To look out for 

  • Romance: Main character and her friend discuss how cute the pizza delivery boy is. They call him hot, and her friend wants him as a future husband. This
  • Language: character is said to swear, but words are not mentioned.
