Reader’s Review

This is a highly popular picture book that celebrates you, the reader (or the one being read to) and talks about how the entire universe celebrated at your birth. On the one hand it is a sweet tale, and in an often harsh and fast-paced world, it gives a parent an opportunity to express vocally a deep love for his or her child. But on the other hand in Islamic literature the celebration of the earth and the skies and all they contain at the birth of an individual, is a concept reserved for the select few chosen servants of God. Also as a child grows, teaching self confidence must be tempered with humility and the understanding that piety is what makes a person special.

To look out for

  • Islamic Values: The book teaches that the entire universe and all its creatures celebrated at your birth. The cover shows two polar bears dancing together.
