A family of miniature people who live in an old country house cleverly "borrow" the things which they need.

Reader’s Review

A classic 4 part series about a group of tiny people that live beneath the floors of large English homes, and ‘borrow’ what they need from the large human beings upstairs to make a living of their own. They must endure many frightening adventures as they venture about looking for things and coming across people. Adults will enjoy the simple lifestyles and attention to details of a world so different from ours, but kids may find the book too old-fashioned and hard to read on their own.

To look out for

  • Violence: Human beings use violent methods (such as calling a rat exterminator) to get rid of the Borrowers.
