Reader’s Review
The first book in this classic is a sweet if unrealistic tale of 4 siblings who find themselves alone and must take care of themselves. They find an abandoned boxcar and make a comfortable life for themselves, earning money by running errands during the day, and running into many adventures. Everyone they meet is kind and helpful, and in the end they find their wealthy grandfather and all ends well. Younger kids will enjoy the story, but older children may find it hard to believe all the pleasant coincidences. Great for new readers.
