Although written for the preteen age group, this book will likely appeal to adults as well (perhaps more so!) as it describes the unlikely love the grows between a childless couple and a young boy who cannot speak. Preteens may find the pace of the book slow, but fans of Sharon Creech will not be disappointed.
To look out for
