Reader’s Review
Adults will appreciate this tale of what happens when technology and nature collide. Children will enjoy the main character (a robot) and the challenge she faces in making friends with the animals of the forest. Preteens may find the pace of the book slow. Would make for a good novel study book or for a read-aloud (especially if you can do a robot voice!)
To look out for
- Violence: The book ends with a surprisingly violent battle between the robots who come for the main character and the animals who are her friends. The robots wield rifles, and a mother bear is injured, the animals band together to kill some of the robots.
