Reader’s Review

Another adventure series by popular author Gordon Korman loosely based on historical facts. Preteens will enjoy the adventures of the main characters. There is lots of drama, but not that much educational value.

To look out for

  • Islamic Values: One of the girls has a father who is a drunk and spends time gambling. One of the main characters’ mother is a feminist.
  • Violence: The story includes a murderer on the Titanic who tries to kill two children looking for him but fails and eventually drowns. There is a stowaway who is always trying to hide, and believes that two other passengers killed his friend. Many passengers drown. One of the main characters dies of hypothermia.
